“Pickers,” “Truckers” travel well for A+E Networks

Broadcasters in Europe, Canada and Asia Pacific have licensed a number of A+E Networks titles, including American Pickers (pictured), Big Shrimpin’, and Titanic’s Final Moments: Missing Pieces.

Spain’s La Sexta picked up a package of titles, including American Pickers, Ax Men, The First 48, Intervention, Ice Road Truckers, Pawn Stars and Swamp People, among other titles.

In France, Direct 8 picked up Seven Signs of the Apocalypse, France 5 acquired It’s Good to be the President, June picked up 24 Hour Catwalk, Planete No Limit picked up Most Extreme Airports, and TMC acquired My Ghost Story.

Poland’s Polcast Television acquired Titanic’s Final Moments: Missing Pieces; Battle 360; Modern Marvels; and Underwater Universe, among others, which will air across Tele5, Polonia1 and CSB TV.

In Finland, Sanoma Entertainment picked up American Pickers, American Restoration, Ax Men, Top Shot, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, and Hoarders, to air across Nelonan, Jim TV and Liv TV; while in Denmark, DRHD acquired Big Shrimpin’, Ice Road Truckers, and IRT Deadliest Roads.

Multiple deals were also closed in China, with ICS Channel picking up Cities of the Underworld and Engineering an Empire, among other titles. Phoenix Channel acquired Coming Home, Swamp People and Titanic’s Final Moments: Missing Pieces; while Yuanchun acquired America the Story of the US, Titanic Mystery Solved, and 101 Gadgets that Changed the World, among several others. CCTV picked up Swamp People, How the Earth Was Made, Food Tech, and Inspector America.

In Japan, BS-TBS picked up Ice Road Truckers, Sukachan acquired Titanic: 100 Years in 3D, and Ginga Channel picked up a package of Biography episodes.

Indonesia’s Kompas TV purchased Hidden Cities and Cities of the Underworld and B Channel acquired a package of Biography episodes, while Brunei’s RTB picked up Big Shrimpin’, Steven Seagal Lawman and Sniper: Deadliest Missions.

In the U.S., the Armed Forced Radio and Television Services (AFRTS) acquired America’s Book of Secrets, Top Shot, One Born Every Minute and America’s Supernanny, among other titles.

Lastly, deals were also firmed up in Canada, with Astral picking up a package including Ice Road Truckers, American Restoration, Swamp People and Biography episodes, to air across Canal D, Musiplus, Canal Vie, Historia, and ZTele. Rogers acquired Storage Wars Texas and Shipping Wars.
